Blogging has been slow lately… We have been busy coaching and working on new books. Kim has finished a new novel, I am (hopefully soon) finishing a memoir . Meanwhile, we have tried out a new challenge: teaching an online class. Complicated technology, making coaching quite difficult in a virtual classroom. The topic was Yo-Yo Dieting, something that comes up regularly in our groups and individual coaching.
Most of us have experienced yo-yo dieting, losing weight and gaining weight back. There is a particular brain chemistry that predetermines this Yo-Yo process — a good reason not to reproach ourselves too much when the scale goes up again. Kim will explain this brain chemistry in an upcoming blog post. But here’s the urgent question: Is there a way out of this cycle?
Yes, there is.
In our 30 years of experience with the psychological and physical issues of food and weight gain we have discovered that the “silver bullet” of dieting exists. The Dr. Simeons hCG weight loss Protocol allows you to lose up to a pound per day without hunger and without the loss of the necessary body fat that protects your organs and keeps your face from looking haggard and drawn. hCG combined with a 500 calorie-per-day diet targets the unnccessary fat deposits in the body, especially the stored fat in belly, hips and thighs, in a way that no other low-calorie diet can achieve.
But hCG also impacts the brain in a different way than other diets: The body does not go into starvation mode, because it is being “fed” by our own fat deposits. The hypothalamus, as the Argentinian hCG expert Dr. Daniel Belluscio frames it, gets a certain “healing” on the diet — healing from the past food abuse we inflicted by eating sugars, carbs and fats of bad quality and in unhealthy proportions.
Individual and group support can be essential, even if you just study and weigh the pros and cons of going on a diet. There’s a great deal of research showing the effectiveness of groups, whether for meditating together, engaging in creative projects or losing weight. It makes sense. We come together, recognize and support each other, make a commitment to a community that supports our commitment to ourselves. But even you and your coach make up a miniature “group” that provides stability and reassurance.
Summer and berry time is a great time for the hCG diet!
Berries are not only rich in antioxidants and vitamin but new research shows that berries can boost your brain power (aarp.com). They contain polyphenols, which activate proteins that “clean up” damaged cells by breakingk down the toxic chemicals that contribute to mental decline.
We would like to encourage you to make use of the season and of our Summer Special at the Store.
An excellent preparation for any diet can be watched right now online — the HBO series “The Weight of the Nation,” a wake-up call about the health risks of over-weight and obesity.
